AM Best affirms Vantage Risk ratings after leadership transition
The rating affirmation covers Vantage Risk Specialty Insurance Company and Vantage Risk Assurance Company, with Grandisson appointed immediately and Gansberg set to take over in June 2027.
AM Best has affirmed the credit ratings for Vantage Risk Ltd. in Bermuda and its affiliates, saying the appointments of Marc Grandisson and David Gansberg at Vantage Group Holdings have not changed the ratings. The affirmation applies to Vantage Risk Specialty Insurance Company and Vantage Risk Assurance Company, which operate under the Vantage Group brand, according to Reinsurance News.
Grandisson, a former Arch Capital Group leader, is taking the role of Executive Chairman effective immediately. Gansberg, previously President of Arch Capital, is expected to assume the CEO role in June 2027, while Grandisson will work alongside Vantage’s founding CEO Greg Hendrick to support the transition.
The leadership change follows Howard Hughes Holdings’ acquisition of Vantage Group in an all-cash deal valued at approximately $2.1 billion. AM Best said the transition represents a significant governance change, but its assessments of Vantage Risk’s balance sheet strength, operating performance, business profile, and enterprise risk management remain unchanged, with positive outlooks.
AM Best said it will keep monitoring the leadership transition through the remainder of Hendrick’s tenure and Gansberg’s move into the CEO role, and it will take further rating action if any developments affect Vantage’s creditworthiness.
