Boeing CEO says finances need a couple more years before next jet
Kelly Ortberg said the company is prioritizing stabilizing its current business rather than rushing a successor to the 737 MAX.
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said the plan to move toward a new jet depends on repairing the company’s finances first, adding that the effort will take a couple more years.
According to CNBC Markets, Ortberg signalled the company is focused on stabilizing its existing business rather than accelerating development of a successor to its best-selling 737 MAX.
CNBC World reported the same message, describing Boeing’s priority as getting its current operations back on firmer footing before pursuing the next major aircraft program.
