Deccan Value Investors rejects SEC findings after ‘gag rule’ repeal
The Connecticut-based hedge fund said it is challenging a settled SEC case that was based on the regulator’s long standing “gag rule” approach, after the SEC abandoned the policy.
Connecticut-based hedge fund Deccan Value Investors has publicly rejected findings made by the US Securities and Exchange Commission in a 2022 enforcement action, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The firm became one of the first investment managers to dispute a settled SEC case after the regulator decided to abandon its long-standing “gag rule.”
The SEC had previously relied on that policy framework in its 2022 action against Deccan Value Investors, but the fund’s latest response challenges the regulator’s conclusions tied to the matter.
