GameStop expands its delivery reach with new Uber Eats partnership

The deal lets customers order games, consoles, and collectibles from participating GameStop stores for on-demand or scheduled delivery across the U.S., reinforcing its omnichannel strategy.

GameStop is partnering with Uber Eats to sell products through Uber Eats, giving customers across the U.S. the ability to order items for on-demand or scheduled delivery from participating GameStop stores, according to Yahoo Finance. The agreement covers video games, consoles, accessories, collectibles, and other electronics.

The partnership is described as an expansion of GameStop's digital reach beyond its own stores and website, providing access to Uber Eats' retail marketplace as the retailer works to drive convenience and capture incremental sales. The focus is on strengthening its omnichannel strategy rather than making a major change to how it sells products today.

Yahoo Finance says the company expects faster delivery to help it take advantage of launch-day game releases, last-minute purchases, and impulse buying, while improving customer engagement without significant capital investment. The outlet also notes that the deal is unlikely to materially change GameStop's near-term earnings on its own.

In markets terms, GameStop has a market cap of $9.8 billion, and shares have been down 6.7% over the past 52 weeks, trading about 22.4% below a 52-week high of $28.10. Still, the stock is up about 8.7% year-to-date, supported by investor optimism tied to improving profitability, strategic initiatives, and ongoing retail investor interest, Yahoo Finance reported.
