Oil prices reversed lower after a report that Iran has floated a short cease-fire proposal, triggering renewed concerns about the near term path of the conflict, according to MarketWatch.

The outlet said the move came after Iran’s foreign ministry stated negotiations with the U.S. could be pursued, following the report of a 10-day cease-fire proposal.

After the news broke, oil prices switched direction and dropped rather than extending earlier strength.
