UTA leases 100,948 square feet at the Empire State Building
The lease covers floors 32 through 35 at 20 West 34th Street and is set to be completed next summer, consolidating UTA’s existing Manhattan offices totaling 81,000 square feet.
Los Angeles-based United Talent Agency, UTA, has leased 100,948 square feet at the Empire State Building for its new East Coast headquarters, Commercial Observer reports. The company will consolidate multiple office locations across Manhattan into space on the 32nd through 35th floors of the 20 West 34th Street tower owned by Empire State Realty Trust, ESRT. UTA will pay an asking rent of $96 per square foot, according to the report. The new headquarters is slated for next summer, with the move positioned as both a consolidation and an expansion for the agency. The Commercial Observer report says UTA is currently spread across three Manhattan offices totaling 81,000 square feet. Negotiations were represented by JLL, and on the landlord side by ESRT, alongside a Newmark team. In a statement, UTA partner Benjamin Bass said the lease gives the agency room to grow and offers a workplace with desirable amenities and flexible floor plates. The Empire State Building’s renovation efforts, including ESRT’s decades-long, $650 million overhaul of the tower, have also drawn tenants including law firms and other professional services companies.
