Bühler unveils maintenance platform for plansifters to cut flour dust
The platform is designed to support sieve stack maintenance with an ergonomic working height and features aimed at keeping the area cleaner around the plansifter.
Bühler has introduced a maintenance platform for plansifters that the company says is built to improve safety, ergonomics, and reduce flour dust exposure during sieve stack maintenance, a task it described as physically demanding and often associated with high dust levels.
Bühler said regular sieve stack maintenance is essential to deliver consistently high sifting performance and stable product quality. It also said the work can help prevent unplanned downtime, extend the service life of key components, and reduce operating and follow-up costs.
The platform provides an ergonomic working height, is equipped with castors for flexible use, and includes stairs with a platform as a safer alternative to a ladder. Bühler added that collection containers, inclined catchment surfaces, and a dust curtain are intended to create a cleaner working area around the plansifter.
The company said the maintenance platform was specifically developed for plansifter maintenance rather than improvised solutions or standard platforms made for other applications, combining safety, ease of use, and industrial robustness. World Grain cited Bühler’s development as part of broader equipment projects it highlighted in its June issue.
