Bitcoin nears $67,000 as crypto stocks surge
Bitcoin was up nearly 3% in 24 hours to $66,886, and Coinbase and Marathon Digital rose more than 11% and 6%, respectively.
Bitcoin jumped Tuesday to nearly $67,000 per coin, reaching $66,886, a move that also lifted crypto-linked equities, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
The outlet said Bitcoin was at its highest level in over one month, up close to 3% over the past 24 hours and up close to 6% over the last seven days, even as tensions in the Middle East flared.
Nasdaq-listed Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, climbed above $100 per share on Tuesday, after previously reporting it did not make its usual crypto buy and instead sold $225 million worth of Strategy shares used for its dollar reserve, Bitcoin Magazine said.
Other Nasdaq-listed crypto names also rose, with Coinbase up 11% and Marathon Digital trading more than 6% higher, while the article noted Bitcoin is down nearly 24% year-to-date and has lost close to half its value since its October record of $126,080.
