CoinShares launches Bitcoin mining UCITS ETF on Deutsche Börse Xetra

The Ireland-domiciled fund trades under ticker MINE and tracks a rules-based index of listed BTC miners, with a 0.65% total expense ratio.

CoinShares launched its first UCITS exchange-traded fund in Europe focused on Bitcoin mining, starting trading on Deutsche Börse Xetra on Tuesday. The fund is listed as an Irish-domiciled product and is designed to give European investors exposure to publicly listed BTC miners.

The CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF trades under the ticker MINE and follows the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining Index, a rules-based basket of listed Bitcoin mining companies administered by Solactive AG. The ETF is physically replicated and began trading with a last price of 19.50 euros, according to market data cited by Cointelegraph.

Cointelegraph also reported that Deutsche Börse Xetra data showed 60 units traded for turnover of 1,184 euros. The firm said the UCITS fund carries a total expense ratio of 0.65% and rebalances quarterly.

The UCITS structure is the EU regulatory framework for investment funds, and CoinShares said UCITS funds can be marketed across multiple jurisdictions under a harmonized regime. Cointelegraph added that CoinShares has a similar U.S.-traded Bitcoin mining ETF, WGMI, with net assets of $343.6 million.
