London Stock Exchange plans night trading venue in 2027
The new venue would run from 5:00 pm to 7:50 am London time, initially focusing on exchange-traded products tracking UK or US stock markets.
The London Stock Exchange is planning to launch a night-time trading venue in the first half of 2027, according to a Financial Times report cited by Cointelegraph.
The proposed system would operate separately from the LSE’s main market and run from 5:00 pm to 7:50 am London time, while the core trading hours would stay at 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
The night venue is expected to initially provide access to exchange-traded products, including those tracking the UK or US stock market.
Cointelegraph said the move comes as traditional exchanges face competition from crypto markets and tokenized equity platforms that offer trading around the clock.
