Bharti AXA Life CIO flags low chance of Nifty washout in 2026
The CIO pointed to expected 15 to 16% EPS growth for FY27 and a one year forward P/E near 20, below the 10 year average of about 21.
LiveMint Markets reports that Bharti AXA Life CIO Rahul Bhuskute said the probability of an index washout in 2026 is low, even after a tumultuous first half.
In an interview with Mint, Bhuskute said India’s Nifty core growth drivers remain attractive, citing an expected 15 to 16% EPS expansion for FY27.
He added that the market’s one year forward P/E of nearly 20 times is below the long term 10 year average of nearly 21 times, which he described as offering a margin of safety.
Bhuskute also warned that rising global bond yields, especially in the US, could tighten global liquidity and pressure Indian equities through multiple rounds of valuation compression, accelerated FII outflows, and currency depreciation, though he said any de escalation in West Asia could quickly improve risk sentiment.
