Bitcoin and ethereum rose on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, as investors’ risk appetite returned, according to Yahoo Finance. Bitcoin opened at $65,214.1, up 0.8% from Monday’s opening price, and was trading at $66,398.2 as of 9:30 a.m. ET.
Ethereum also gained, opening at $1,903.4, up 1.7% from Monday’s open. By 9:30 a.m. ET, ethereum was higher at $1,936.0.
Yahoo Finance linked the strength in crypto to an uptick in the Nasdaq-100 earlier in the session. The outlet also cited SoSo Value data showing bitcoin ETFs recorded positive net inflows for a second consecutive week, though those inflows did not fully offset outflows from prior weeks.
The report said crypto volatility is likely to persist as markets weigh developments related to the U.S.-Iran war and prepare for continued second-quarter earnings results.
