Block launches Buzz, a Nostr-based workspace for humans and AI agents
Buzz is built on Nostr and is designed to give both people and agents their own cryptographic identities, so agent history and reputation can move across Nostr-compatible systems.
Block, the payments company led by Jack Dorsey, has launched Buzz, a free and open source workspace where employees and AI agents share the same platform.
Buzz runs on the Nostr protocol and bundles group chat features like channels, threads, direct messages, and voice and media sharing with code repositories and automated workflows, with Block saying the interface will feel familiar to users of modern team chat tools.
The company said each human and agent gets its own cryptographic keypair rather than identities owned by the platform, and it records activity as signed events in a single log so an agent's identity, history, and reputation can travel across any Nostr compatible system.
Block described Buzz as model-agnostic, citing support for agents built on Claude Code, OpenAI's Codex, and its goose agent framework, and said the goal is to reduce reliance on Slack and GitHub.
