Historic Cinerama Dome set to reopen with Alamo Drafthouse in 2028
Renovations begin next month and run through early 2028, with the adjacent former ArcLight complex to operate as an Alamo dine-in cinema.
ConnectCRE reports that the historic Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, along with its adjacent 14-screen movie theater complex, is scheduled to reopen after being shuttered since the pandemic.
The property will reopen under the management of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, a unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment. The Dome Entertainment Center ownership was represented by CBRE’s Nicole Mihalka and others, while JLL’s Ken Shishido represented Alamo Drafthouse.
Renovations are set to start next month and extend through early 2028. The project will preserve the Dome’s historic legacy, including keeping the iconic “Cinerama” name and exterior branding intact.
ConnectCRE also says the adjacent complex, previously run by ArcLight Cinemas, will be operated as an Alamo Drafthouse dine-in cinema.
