India student protests widen after alleged NEET exam leaks
Delhi police said nearly 180 people were injured in clashes, including 60 protesters and 118 police and security personnel.
India’s student-led “cockroach” protests, sparked by allegations of leaks tied to the National Eligibility Entrance Test, are broadening into a wider test of whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government can contain young people’s frustrations about education, jobs and accountability, according to SCMP Economy.
The movement gained political momentum on Tuesday after opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were forcibly removed following a gathering with about 100 fellow lawmakers outside Modi’s residence to condemn the use of force against student protesters.

The protests, led by the Cockroach Janta Party, began after allegations that question papers were leaked for NEET, one of India’s most competitive exams for aspiring doctors.
