Iran targets US facilities at bases in Jordan and Bahrain
Iranian state media said attacks hit US assets at Jordan’s Al Azraq base and facilities used by American personnel at Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base, and the report noted no immediate US confirmation on damage or casualties.
Iranian state media says Iranian forces targeted US military facilities at Jordan’s Al Azraq base and at Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base, which is used by American personnel. The report described the strikes as directed at US assets in both locations.
The attacks were characterized as retaliation for recent US Central Command operations against Iranian targets in southern Iran, including command centers, missile and drone launch sites, air defense systems and maritime capabilities.
There has been no immediate confirmation from US officials about damage or casualties at either facility. Reuters also reported that mediators have floated proposals to revive negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Even as diplomatic efforts continue to restore a ceasefire, the continued exchange of strikes underscores how fragile de escalation remains, according to the report.
