U.S. announces 50% tariff on selected Canadian products

The duties were framed under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930 and target goods that cover about 5% of Canadian exports to the U.S.

The U.S. administration announced a 50% tariff on select Canadian products, invoking Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, according to Action Forex.

The move targets a range of goods including alcoholic beverages, cement, dairy products, wood and paper products, and hockey sticks and other items.

Action Forex said the affected items represent roughly 5% of Canadian exports to the United States.
