AMD pairs its Helios GPU rack with Cerebras wafer-scale AI inference
The collaboration targets ultra-low latency inference, as AMD also pushed its competitiveness in next-generation EPYC server CPUs.
AMD announced a set of AI-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening its position in AI infrastructure, including a new partnership designed to extend beyond GPUs into inference and enterprise data center workloads, according to Forexlive.
The centerpiece is an AI inference collaboration with Cerebras that combines AMD's Helios GPU rack with Cerebras' wafer-scale AI chip, aiming to deliver ultra-low latency performance.
Forexlive also noted AMD is leaning on its next-generation EPYC server CPUs as part of its broader strategy to compete across the AI stack, from training infrastructure to inference and data center systems.
Shares were mixed after the announcements, with AMD down 3.1% to $535, while Cerebras was up 4.0% to $218, Forexlive said.
