BitMEX to shut down permanently on Sept. 23, 2026
The exchange will end operations after its owner, HDR Global Trading, completed a strategic review.
BitMEX, the crypto derivatives exchange co-founded by Arthur Hayes, will shut down permanently on Sept. 23, 2026, at 04:00 UTC, according to The Block.
The planned closure follows a strategic review by BitMEX owner HDR Global Trading, which has decided to discontinue the platform after more than a decade in operation.
The Block reports the shutdown date means users will need to account for the end of BitMEX services as the closure approaches.
