Coinbase enables businesses to accept USDC payments from AI agents
The exchange also rolled out AI trading tools and a developer kit for agent-powered applications, building on its x402 HTTP stablecoin payment standard introduced in May 2025.
Cointelegraph reports that Coinbase is expanding its push into AI-powered finance by enabling businesses to accept USDC payments from autonomous AI agents.
The exchange said its Coinbase Business users can take USDC via the x402 payment standard, which Coinbase first introduced in May 2025 to support stablecoin payments over HTTP for AI agents, apps, and APIs.
Coinbase also announced AI trading tools that allow users to monitor orders, access live market data, and execute actions based on predefined conditions, along with a software development kit for developers building agent-powered applications.
Cointelegraph adds that Coinbase frames the updates as support for an “agentic economy,” where AI agents can make payments and manage finances, and it pointed to increased agent-generated traffic on Base documentation pages.
