Goldman CEO backs the CLARITY Act as stablecoin market rules advance

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said the bill would add regulatory certainty and support market stability, ahead of a possible Senate vote next week.

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said he supports moving forward with the CLARITY Act, even though he described the legislation as “not perfect,” according to an interview cited by CoinDesk.

Solomon argued that the measure would create a more level playing field for digital assets, helping enhance market stability and giving the sector a clearer regulatory framework to develop.

His endorsement contrasts with criticism from other major banking leaders, including JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, who has opposed provisions that would let crypto firms offer yield-bearing stablecoins that resemble bank deposits without equivalent regulatory treatment.

CoinDesk reports that Republican senators have circulated updated CLARITY Act text ahead of a possible Senate floor vote next week, as the broader debate over whether stablecoin rules close or widen regulatory gaps continues.
