JGL Commodities to buy Providence Grain Solutions terminal in Saskatchewan

The Marengo facility has licensed storage capacity of 22,960 tonnes and is served by Canadian National Railway, according to the Canadian Grain Commission registry.

World Grain reports that JGL Commodities has agreed to acquire the Providence Grain Solutions grain terminal near Marengo, Saskatchewan.

The deal was announced July 22, and financial terms were not disclosed. JGL Commodities expects the transaction to close in August, and said it will retain local staff and later provide more details about the terminal’s operations, services, and future plans.

JGL Commodities said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in a Saskatchewan grain-growing region and improve how producers connect with domestic and international markets. It also expects the terminal to add grain handling and storage capacity to its logistics network.

According to the Canadian Grain Commission elevator registry, the Marengo facility has licensed grain storage capacity of 22,960 tonnes and is served by Canadian National Railway (CN).
