Uniswap launches permissioned pools for regulated assets on v4
The v4 hook enforces an issuer-controlled allowlist on every swap and liquidity action, with Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo named as launch partners.
Uniswap has introduced Permissioned Pools, a new hook standard for its v4 protocol intended to let regulated, tokenized assets trade through automated market makers with compliance checks enforced onchain, according to the company’s blog post published Thursday.
Instead of relying on a frontend gate or an offchain compliance check, the pool itself verifies whether a wallet is approved before swaps or liquidity actions proceed, with the issuer maintaining control of the allowlist and the hook running checks when users swap or mint liquidity positions.
The launch partners include Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo. Superstate is described as having helped shape tokenized equities and funds, while Dowgo contributed an ERC-3643 integration.
Uniswap said Permissioned Pools provide an institutional-grade, open source standard for trading regulated assets on an AMM, and it pointed to tokenized real-world assets as a market it estimates could reach $11 trillion by 2030. The update comes as UNI was down 1.6% over the prior 24 hours, with market capitalization near $2.36 billion, The Defiant reports.
