War powers fight leaves Middle East tensions elevated

Iranian media, including ISNA and Mehr News, cited powerful explosions on Kuwait's Bubiyan Island, and separate reports said an explosion was heard on Iran's Qeshm Island after a missile strike reportedly hit the coastal area near the city of Souza, according to Forexlive.
On the diplomatic and military front, Forexlive reports that Israel appears to be preparing for the possibility of further escalation, with the Israeli Prime Minister's Office set to hold a limited security discussion and officials telling Ynet they believe escalation is likely.
In Washington, Forexlive says the House passed an Iran war powers resolution reminding the President that Congress must approve going to war, with a broad majority of Republicans voting to support the measure and cede congressional war powers to President Trump.
