Bank of America strategist says Warsh may need near-term hikes
The call is aimed at calming the long end of the Treasury curve, according to Bank of America strategist Michael Hartnett.
MarketWatch reports that Bank of America chief strategist Michael Hartnett said new Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh likely needs to raise rates soon.
Hartnett’s view is that near term tightening could help reassure the long end of the Treasury curve.
The argument centers on how Fed credibility could influence bond market pricing beyond the front end of the yield curve.
