Overseas sales make up a small share of S&P 500 revenue
MarketWatch reports that the S&P 500 is primarily driven by domestic operations, with only a small portion of top-500-company revenue coming from abroad.
According to the outlet’s analysis, just over a quarter of revenue for America’s largest companies originates outside the United States.
The rest of S&P 500 revenue is generated domestically, underscoring how the index’s earnings profile is largely tied to the U.S. economy rather than global demand.
