Binance app vanishes from Google Play in some EU countries

The change appears tied to MiCA compliance scrutiny, with the app still visible in Poland and available via Oppo’s App Market.

Binance’s Android app has disappeared from Google Play in some European Union countries as questions continue about the exchange’s compliance with the bloc’s MiCA crypto licensing framework, Cointelegraph reports. A user in Spain confirmed the app was no longer visible in Google Play searches on Monday, though it remained available through Oppo’s App Market for users on Oppo devices. By contrast, checks in Poland showed the Binance app still available on Google Play, suggesting the issue is not uniform across the EU.

Cointelegraph notes the first reports surfaced last week after OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos said on X that the app was removed due to MiCA licensing requirements. Cointelegraph contacted Binance for comment but did not receive a response by publishing time.

The developments come weeks after Binance withdrew its MiCA application in Greece ahead of the framework’s transitional period ending on July 1. Binance later told some EU users that access to certain services would be restricted, while withdrawals would remain available.
