Bitcoin holds near $65,000 as Fed decision looms

Analysts say BTC would need to clear about $67,300, while ether needs to hold above $2,000 to confirm a potential next leg.

Bitcoin was steady around $65,000 on Monday, supported by resilience in the crypto market even as AI-linked tech stocks slid, according to CoinDesk.

CoinDesk cited analysts who said this week’s Federal Reserve policy decision and upcoming U.S. inflation data could help determine whether bitcoin breaks out of its months-long trading range or instead returns toward June lows.

One market strategist said bitcoin would need to move above roughly $67,300 to confirm a breakout, while ether faces a similar test around $2,000, with ether’s recent strength viewed as a constructive sign.

Still, skeptics warned that the rebound may lack buying conviction, pointing to weaker signals such as falling futures open interest and ongoing selling pressure, which could keep bitcoin from sustaining gains without stronger inflows and ETF demand.
