Bitmine adds 9,946 ETH and accelerates share buybacks
The Ethereum treasury firm increased its ETH holdings to 5.79 million tokens and bought back 6.1 million shares under a $4 billion authorization.
CoinDesk reports that Bitmine, an Ethereum treasury company, bought 9,946 ETH last week, bringing its total holdings to 5,787,414 ETH, worth about $11.2 billion at current prices. That stake is roughly 4.8% of ether's circulating supply as the company continues a long-term plan to accumulate 5%.
The outlet said Bitmine also stepped up share repurchases, buying back 6.1 million shares compared with 5.5 million the prior week, under its $4 billion buyback authorization. At current prices, the latest ETH purchase was valued at about $19.4 million.
CoinDesk adds that Bitmine chairman Tom Lee pointed to ether's strength versus bitcoin, including a three-month high in the ETH/BTC ratio, and to ETH's 24% monthly gain and recent price recovery as signals of improving crypto market sentiment. He also referenced the firm's view that rising ETH/BTC is a constructive indicator even amid uncertainty around the CLARITY Act in 2026.
