Marcos heads into Sona amid corruption probe and growth pressure

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to deliver his State of the Nation Address, known locally as the Sona, on Monday as he enters the final two years of his presidency, balancing an anti-corruption push with the need to sustain economic growth, according to SCMP Economy.
The focus includes the administration’s investigation into alleged billions of pesos in discrepancies tied to flood-control projects, a matter that analysts say could shape expectations for both governance and economic outcomes.
SCMP Economy also cites fund manager Ronald Acoba, who said Marcos’ biggest challenge will be delivering economic results for the remainder of his term while the corruption crackdown continues.
