Triple-A confirms treasury-wallet breach after $11.8M in losses
The stablecoin payments firm said unauthorized access was detected Saturday and it paused some services for about three hours while securing the affected infrastructure.
Triple-A, a Singapore-based stablecoin payments company, confirmed that unauthorized access to its treasury wallets led to losses of company-owned digital assets, with an independent on-chain investigator previously estimating the damage at about $11.8 million. The company said it detected the incident on Saturday and temporarily placed certain services into maintenance mode for roughly three hours to secure the affected infrastructure. Triple-A also said it did not disclose the amount lost or provide details on how the wallets were compromised. Triple-A said client funds were not affected, noting it does not custody digital assets on behalf of customers and keeps client funds separately in trust accounts at safeguarding institutions. It added that the financial impact was limited to specific operational accounts and would be covered using its treasury reserves.
