KatRisk names Eric Robinson vice president of R&D

Robinson previously led research strategy for Aon’s US catastrophe modelling offerings covering severe convective storm, earthquake, flood, storm surge and tropical cyclone models.

KatRisk, a catastrophe risk modelling company serving the insurance and reinsurance sectors, has appointed Eric Robinson as its new vice president of research and development.

Robinson brings experience in statistical modelling, data analytics, atmospheric science and catastrophe risk modelling, with a background focused on building and improving risk models to help insurers understand natural catastrophe exposures.

Before joining KatRisk, he spent more than five years at Aon, where he held senior roles in Impact Forecasting, the company’s catastrophe modelling business. As managing director, he was responsible for strategic direction of research across US catastrophe modelling offerings spanning severe convective storm, earthquake, flood, storm surge and tropical cyclone models.

Earlier, Robinson spent more than eight years at AIR Worldwide, contributing to catastrophe risk models for severe convective storm and extratropical cyclone risks across regions including the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, and will now support KatRisk’s continued development of risk analytics solutions.
