Ondo launches offchain execution network for trades
The new Ondo Network runs trading software in protected enclaves, while transfers are ultimately recorded on public blockchains.
Ondo Finance has launched an offchain execution network called Ondo Network, a pivot away from the institution-focused layer-1 blockchain the company announced in 2025, according to Cointelegraph.
The company said Ondo Network handles trades away from public blockchains and is already being used by Ondo Perps, its perpetual futures platform.
Instead of relying on distributed validators to maintain shared blockchain state, Ondo Network runs its trading software inside protected computing environments known as enclaves, which it described as trusted execution environments. Cointelegraph reports that a set of operators checks the software has not been altered and each holds part of the digital key needed to authorize transfers, though Ondo did not identify the operators or list how many are involved.
Ondo said transfers are ultimately recorded on public blockchains, and it described the system as a continuation of Ondo Chain, which it announced as a blockchain for putting traditional financial assets onchain. Cointelegraph also notes Ondo said it may later add more operators, record more activity on public blockchains, and introduce participant security tokens, but it did not provide a timeline.
