Wideman buys 35-story TotalEnergies Tower in Houston for long-term hold
The 850,000-square-foot office tower at 1201 Louisiana St. was built in 1971, and Wideman’s downtown Houston office ownership will rise to about 1.7 million square feet.
Wideman Co. acquired the 35-story TotalEnergies Tower at 1201 Louisiana St. in Houston from Brookfield Properties, according to ConnectCRE.
The 850,000-square-foot property was originally built in 1971 and has been updated over time, including upgrades that added a fitness facility and an adjacent bike room, plus lobby work previously completed in 1996.
ConnectCRE said Brookfield began renovations to what was then called Total Plaza in 2019, finishing them in 2020, with Ziegler Cooper Architects handling the redesign and Tellepsen leading construction for the project.
ConnectCRE reported that Wideman plans to keep the tower as a long-term hold, and that the acquisition brings its downtown Houston office portfolio to roughly 1.7 million square feet, including its ownership of Jones on Main.
