Asian tech stocks extend sell-off as SoftBank drops 7%

SoftBank shares fell about 7% amid weakness in AI-linked names, while several Hong Kong-listed Chinese internet firms finished higher.

Asian technology stocks extended their sell-off, with SoftBank sliding roughly 7% as investors appeared to take a more cautious stance on AI-related plays, CNBC Markets said.

Despite the broader regional weakness, some Hong Kong-listed Chinese internet stocks traded higher, including Tencent, Meituan, Baidu, and Kuaishou, according to the CNBC coverage.

The mixed performance highlighted a split between struggling parts of Asia tech and pockets of strength among major Chinese platform and internet names listed in Hong Kong.
