SoFiUSD begins real-time settlement for SoFi’s business clients
SoFi said crypto transaction revenue was $134.3 million in the quarter, leaving net crypto revenue of $1.2 million after costs of $133.1 million.
SoFi Technologies said commercial clients have started settling transactions in real time using its SoFiUSD stablecoin, with the company highlighting the move as a shift from launch to production payments. The digital bank tied the first live settlements to real-time commercial payments running through its Big Business Banking platform on Solana, according to its second-quarter results published Wednesday.
SoFi said Big Business Banking, its enterprise product introduced this year, began processing transactions on the SoFi Exchange Network during the quarter, enabling clients to move money in real time, 24/7 through SoFiUSD. The company also said the quarter provided an initial read on the economics of its crypto relaunch, with crypto transaction revenue at $134.3 million and net crypto revenue of $1.2 million after $133.1 million in costs.
The results came alongside SoFi’s broader performance improvements, including adjusted net revenue of $1.2 billion, up 40% year over year, and net income rising 61% to $156.6 million. SoFi also reported loan originations of $14.8 billion, its best-ever level, and said it raised full-year guidance.
The company launched SoFiUSD in December as settlement infrastructure for other banks, fintechs, and enterprise platforms, and it said in June it opened the stablecoin to its full membership. Despite the update, shares of SOFI were down about 10% to around $15 in Wednesday morning trading, extending a slide that has left the stock roughly 50% below its 2026 highs, as shown by Google Finance data.
