Translunar Crypto founder sentenced to 37 months for tax evasion

Hedgeweek reported that Justin Ryan Schmidt, co-founder of cryptocurrency-focused hedge fund Translunar Crypto LP, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for tax evasion.

According to the report, Schmidt admitted to a scheme to evade millions of dollars in US taxes after he renounced his US citizenship.

Bloomberg, as cited by Hedgeweek, said the case centered on Schmidt's admissions tied to the tax-evasion plan.
