AAA launches Web3 Panel to handle blockchain and digital asset disputes

The panel is set up for disputes tied to decentralized and automated commercial systems, including issues around cybersecurity, governance, and transaction records.

The American Arbitration Association has launched a specialist Web3 Panel aimed at resolving blockchain and digital asset disputes, giving companies access to arbitrators with expertise in both the technical and legal sides of crypto cases, according to Cointelegraph.

The AAA said the panel brings together arbitrators with experience spanning law, technology, academia, litigation, and digital asset businesses, and is designed to address disagreements common in automated and decentralized commercial setups.

Cointelegraph reports the disputes the panel is meant to cover include contract interpretation, governance, asset control, cybersecurity, transaction records, and cross-border enforcement, as well as disputes involving agentic commerce and autonomous transactions where software or AI initiates or executes agreements with limited human involvement.

The panel launch does not give the AAA regulatory authority over the crypto industry, and arbitration still depends on the parties agreeing to submit the dispute to a private arbitrator, Cointelegraph added.
