BoE reviews UK prime broker exposure to AI-linked Asian equity trades
The Bank of England is reviewing whether investment banks operating in the UK have excessive exposure to Asian equities through their prime brokerage activities, according to a Financial Times report cited by Hedgeweek.
The review is tied to concerns about concentrated, leveraged positions in AI related stocks held by hedge funds and other investors, Hedgeweek said.
The Financial Times report indicates the BoE is focusing on how these concentrated trades can amplify risk within prime brokerage arrangements.
