Hedge funds increase shorts on US critical minerals firms
The bearish bets reflect concerns that government support may not offset China’s dominance in critical minerals supply chains.
Hedge funds are raising bearish positions in several US critical minerals companies, according to a Financial Times report cited by Hedgeweek.
The strategy is based on a view that strong government backing for the sector may not be enough to overcome China’s long-standing dominance of global supply chains, the outlet said.
