Ondo Finance weighs acquisition valued up to $500 million

The tokenized-assets firm is considering a deal between $250 million and $500 million, with advisers not yet appointed.

Ondo Finance is evaluating a potential acquisition valued between $250 million and $500 million, according to a person familiar with the matter cited by CoinDesk. The discussion is still in an exploratory stage, and formal advisers have not been appointed, the source said on condition of anonymity because the matter is private.

CoinDesk reports the New York-based tokenized-assets specialist is considering wealthtech targets, among other subsectors, as it weighs expansion through M&A. The outlet notes crypto dealmaking has remained robust in 2026, with tokenization and institutional infrastructure among the acquisition priorities for firms seeking scale.

Ondo, founded in 2021 by former Goldman Sachs executives, is a tokenization platform that brings traditional financial assets onchain, including tokenized U.S. Treasuries and stocks. CoinDesk says it has also become one of the larger providers of tokenized real-world assets, with more than $2.5 billion across its products.

In emailed comments to CoinDesk, an Ondo representative said the company regularly evaluates opportunities as part of normal business operations, but it is not in conversations with any party at this time. CoinDesk also points to the broader M&A backdrop in 2026, including 89 transactions worth $3.2 billion in the first quarter, followed by $12.9 billion of disclosed deal value in the second quarter, the second-highest on record.
