Situational Awareness hedge fund is bailed out by Citadel
The deal rescues the fund that had previously struggled, with Citadel stepping in via a transaction described by people briefed on it.
The New York Times Business reports that the hedge fund Situational Awareness, which had previously been doing well, has been bailed out by Kenneth Griffin’s Citadel.
According to the report, the rescue comes through a transaction, which was described by three people briefed on the deal.
The fund’s bailout signals Citadel’s involvement in stabilizing a struggling strategy rather than leaving it to unwind on its own, the report says.
