DFW Airport plans up to $193.6M purchase of Hyatt Regency hotel

The deal would let Hyatt keep managing the property, while DFW Airport seeks additional approvals from Dallas and Fort Worth before it is finalized.

DFW Airport’s Public Facility Improvement Corp. board has approved moving forward with a purchase of the Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport, a hotel next to Terminal C, according to ConnectCRE.

Under the agreement, the airport would buy the hotel and its leasehold interest for up to $193.65 million, while Hyatt would continue to manage the property. The transaction would also require additional votes before it can be finalized.

The airport says it already owns the Grand Hyatt DFW, Hyatt Place DFW, and Hyatt House, with Hyatt House under construction and scheduled to open in summer 2027.

ConnectCRE also notes that Woodbine and Castle Lake bought the Hyatt Regency in 2021, and that the hotel bid comes as the airport opened the first phase of an expanded Terminal C that included rebuilt gates and new gates for American Airlines Group Inc.
