Love, Bonito warns customers of potential data exposure after website flaw

The retailer said a vulnerability it found on Sunday was fixed the same day, and that affected data could include customer names, birth dates, contact details, and order history.

Singapore fashion retailer Love, Bonito said some customers’ personal data may have been exposed after a security vulnerability on its website allowed unauthorized access to account information, according to CNA.

In an email to customers on Thursday, CEO Dione Song said the company identified the vulnerability on Sunday and resolved it the same day. Love, Bonito said affected data could include customers’ names, dates of birth, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers, and order history details.

The company added that partial payment information may also have been affected for customers who used cards on the website, including card type, the last four digits and expiry dates. It said full credit card details were not exposed, noting that its payment processor handles and holds the information.

Love, Bonito said it secured the affected systems, notified the relevant data protection authority, and reported the matter to law enforcement, and that it is continuing to review its security measures.
