S&P 500 and Nasdaq end week higher as technical outlook diverges
The S&P 500 rose 0.7% on the day, while the Nasdaq was up about 1.0%, leaving both indexes near weekly highs despite mixed technical signals.
S&P 500 and Nasdaq both closed higher to wrap up the week, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.70% on the day and the Nasdaq rising roughly 1.00%, according to Forexlive. The move kept both indexes in positive territory for the week and left them finishing near their weekly highs.
For the week, the S&P 500 advanced 1.05% and the Nasdaq climbed 1.59%, but Forexlive said the broader technical picture remains mixed.
Forexlive noted the S&P 500 has shifted to a marginally bullish technical bias, suggesting buyers are starting to regain control. The outlet said the Nasdaq still shows a marginally bearish outlook, and highlighted that key technical levels will determine whether this week's rally can extend or whether sellers reassert control in the week ahead.
