Philippine food exporter eyes India as Southeast Asia turns to alternatives

The firm showcased its Sheentaro products at Indusfood in Greater Noida after earlier positive exposure at the China-Asean Expo in Nanning.

A Philippine vegetable exporter is using India as a growth target for its dried and ready-to-eat foods, presenting its Sheentaro-branded products at Indusfood in Greater Noida.

According to SCMP Economy, the company, Dry Tech Manufacturing, said it joined the expo on short notice and had previously showcased its products at the China-Asean Expo in Nanning, where the reception encouraged it to try India again.

The reporting frames the push as part of a broader shift, with Southeast Asian nations increasingly looking to India amid competition between China and the United States for influence in the region, including in trade and technology partnerships.
