US import prices rise 0.3% as China-related costs jump
Energy prices fell, but other categories increased enough to lift overall import prices, with China costs at their highest level since 2008.
US import prices rose 0.3% for the month, according to CNBC Economy, after a surprise increase.
The report said the overall gain reflected a drop in energy prices that was more than offset by higher costs in other areas.
It also noted that the costs of goods from China hit the highest level since 2008.
