Israel says there is no deal to halt Gaza attacks
Israeli strikes were reported across northern Gaza City, Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis, with Palestinian officials citing deaths including a man and his wife.
Reuters reported that Israeli air strikes continued in Gaza for a second straight day on Sunday, killing at least nine Palestinians despite US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a breakthrough in efforts to implement last year’s Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said there was no deal to halt attacks and argued Israel needs to control the entire enclave. He also said Israel already controls about 70 percent of the Strip.
Palestinian health officials said Israeli warplanes carried out separate strikes in northern Gaza City, central Deir al-Balah, and the southern area of Khan Younis, including reports of a man and his wife killed in Deir al-Balah and additional deaths including a child in Gaza City.
