FHFA tightens lender reviews for condo loans as non-QM investors gear up

Separately, Trump Media launched a Truth API that offers paying subscribers faster, real-time access to Truth Social posts, with fees up to $100,000 per month.

Mortgage News Daily says non-QM investors are positioning themselves for changes tied to condo lending, after the FHFA, through Freddie and Fannie, required a more thorough lender assessment before approving condo loans starting today. The outlet frames the shift as a potential competitive advantage for non-QM participants, while noting that non-QM is not undergoing the same condition.

In a separate development also covered in the same post, Trump Media and Technology Group rolled out a subscription data service called Truth API, intended to give businesses a direct, licensed, real-time feed of Truth Social posts deemed market-moving. Mortgage News Daily reports that interim CEO Kevin McGurn said trading firms and other paying subscribers can access posts earlier than other users, with the service priced at up to $100,000 per month. It adds that the launch could have implications for MBS traders seeking faster information flow.
