Flap overtakes Pump.fun in daily revenue on BNB Chain
Flap earned $1.18 million on Aug. 1, surpassing the combined Pump family by about $80,700, as BNB Chain accounted for essentially all of Flap’s takings that day.
Flap, a BNB Chain token launchpad, generated $1.18 million in revenue on Aug. 1, according to data cited by The Defiant from DefiLlama. That marked the first time it beat the broader Pump ecosystem’s daily total, as Flap collected $1,183,980 versus $1,103,266 for the entire Pump group, which includes the pump.fun launchpad, PumpSwap AMM, and its trading terminal.
The Defiant reports the shift followed a strong late-July run for Pump and a steep ramp for Flap. Pump earned between about $1.3 million and $1.44 million per day from July 27 through July 31, while Flap rose from about $28,343 in revenue on July 19 to $541,637 on July 30 and $663,511 on July 31 before the Aug. 1 spike.
The outlet says nearly all of Flap’s Aug. 1 revenue came from BNB Chain, totaling $1.18 million, with small contributions from Robinhood Chain and X Layer. It links the surge to Flap’s relaunch of 币安人生, or “Binance Life,” a memecoin that had previously jumped more than 3,000% on Four.Meme after a Binance co-founder, Yi He, posted the phrase on X.
Over a longer horizon, The Defiant notes Pump remains dominant, with the Pump family earning $31.4 million over the past 30 days compared with Flap’s $4.42 million, and $1.22 billion in lifetime revenue for Pump versus $52.3 million for Flap. The piece also highlights that Flap launched in June 2024 and differs from pump.fun’s flat-fee model by letting creators set trading tax rates of 1% to 10%, while a separate warning from GMGN noted some Flap-launched tokens can carry dynamic tax-rate risk that can make tokens effectively unsellable if sell taxes are configurable up to 100%.
